The main character is a young female psychologist who, every day, interviews people applying for refugee status.  In the evenings she sings jazz standards in a trendy Warsaw club.  Living between the two such different worlds, she tries to distance herself from the emotions building up from both her jobs.

Meanwhile, the Office for Foreigners, where she works, is going to change the procedures.  For our main character these changes will mean greater responsibility and more obligations.

The moving story of crossing the borders of one’s aspirations in order to fulfill one’s dreams.

The main character in the film, Weronika, is a young, outstanding and talented dancer. Since she was 10 years old ballet has been her entire life, day in day out, striving for excellence.  

Weronika’s private life, pain, loneliness and exhaustion remain somewhere in the background, brushed aside, until she suffers from a serious injury just 2 days before her performance at the Berlin Opera that is so vital to her career.

In our short document, just under an hour, Zygmunt Bauman, the well-known philosopher and sociologist shares with us his reflections on culture under the heading of  “Liquid Modern World”.

The Professor known for his reluctance to reveal his personal beliefs and convinced that personal lives are the ”most tedious of subjects that one could ever discuss” talks to us about life in this modern world. Reflections intertwine with personal threads, consisting of his daughters` statements, giving us a portrait of one of the most important modern thinkers.

Blagoveshchensk, on the Russia China border.  A forgotten town, a history full of paradoxes; a place where time has stopped.

10 days on the Trans-Siberian Railway through Russia, 10 years amongst people who have been stigmatized by the former Communist system.


A man who, almost against his will, was sent from Poland to work and now claims this place as his true home.
